	The Great Hall menu Sitting under the Canopy of State, this is the view John Dudley would have had. The large Oak table around which his gathering would have been seated was hewn from a single Oak tree grown locally. By my calculations the only way the table could have been brought into the Hall was through one of the large windows. The present day view. The three facing doors to the left were used for servants coming and going and probably adhering to a strict rule as to who uses which door for what purpose. The missing doorway to the right led to a spiral staircase to an upper floor from where the feature window looks out. home | | menu
